To The Skeptic

Our Background

Skeptical that counseling can work?  Been in therapy before and didn't see anything getting better?  Consider this first before throwing in the towel.

You will be asked to do exercises :  both inside the session and outside. These may include journal writing, communication exercises and role- play.  Children will likely receive play therapy that is focused on their issues. Parents of adolescents and children can be expected to have conferences before every appointment to ask questions and help ensure that sessions work on current goals.

  • Family violence-related trauma
  • Child Abuse and Neglect (all forms)
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Anxiety and Depresion
  • Anger and Stress
  • Life Transitions
  • Challenging Family Dynamics
  • Addiction and the Family
  • Foster Care and Adoption

Sessions are 45 minutes long.

  • Your first session will be focused on your full psycho-social history and goals you wish to achieve
  • If your issues are beyond my expertise or necessitate treatment with other professionals, referral options will be discussed with you
  • The average attendance in therapy is 8 sessions, but shorter or longer-term treatment can be accommodated.
